In and out of the car

Published by admin under 365

The Daily Shoot: The world is always in motion. Make a photo that conveys a bit of your own motion to your viewer.

I’m getting out of the car in this photo – one of the many “ins and outs” that transpire during the day.

Six hibiscuses

Published by admin under 365,Uncategorized

The Daily Shoot: Today’s theme is the number 6. Make a photograph of the number six, six objects, or express six in an alternate way.

Today I took this shot of these six hibiscuses. I thought I’d play around in Photoshop. I know very little about how to edit photographs to their best advantage and I’m trying to learn. I was experimenting with Photoshop CS5′s HDR Toning Adjustment Feature. I am going to see if I can find some tutorials on the web to see if I can improve my skills here. Pensive in pink

Published by admin under 365

The Daily Shoot: Today’s theme is the color pink. Find something that’s pink and make a creative photo.

I like this picture of Genesis in her pink striped dress. She had just finished a spin around the cul de sac and was lost in thought. I think she was planning her next spin or thinking if catching frogs or fireflies might be more fun. She had zoomed on the bike and let me take some shots, posed with her favorite stuffed pink dog, and arranged all her pink toys for me to photograph but this one captures her.

Red anniversary rose

Published by admin under 365

John gave me a dozen red roses on my anniversary last Friday and I have been photographing them every since. I am amazed at their beauty and it’s fun experimenting with different ways to compose the shots. If you like viewing flowers I’ve started a set on Flickr at www.flickr.com/photos/anned/sets/72157624167358681/

Baked Alaska – Oh My!

Published by admin under 365

We had a delayed anniversary dinner tonight with a couple we’ve known since before we got married. It was delightful. We ate at the Petite Auberge Restaurant. This French Restaurant has been in existence for 30 years and is tucked away in a little shopping center in Atlanta. John and I had Chateaubriand for Two. It was wonderful. For dessert he ate the Baked Alaska and I had the Strawberries a la Romanoff. We have eaten there before for our anniversary and it was nice to see that it is just as special as ever. They even treated us with the desserts when they heard it was our anniversary. Great service and great company! Hmmmm, I’ll have to do some extra exercising tomorrow! It was worth it though!

Anniversary Celebration to Remember!

Published by admin under 365

Today is our anniversary! This frame was made by my daughter, Laura, and granddaughter, Genesis, for our 44th anniversary! They took us to Daytona Beach for the weekend. We were having dinner at Bubba Gump’s restaurant after a full day in the sun, sand, and surf! John and I look a little bedraggled but not so bad for 44 years and a jam-packed day on the beach, huh?

The sky before a storm

The sky fascinates me. This is a view before a predicted storm. Each night I look up and I am astounded by the different views.

Time moves on in downtown McDonough

This clock is off the square on one of the streets in downtown McDonough. The square is surrounded by a thriving business district and lots of unique shops. This pretty clock is in front of one of the businesses.

This pretty view is right across the cul de sac to another neighbor’s yard. I get to enjoy it every day, especially when I am checking my mailbox. It helps me forget the oppressive heat, for a few wonderful moments.
