Harley Update

Published by under 365

Harley is six months old now and just as frisky as ever! This is a good shot of him but I still haven’t captured what is so very special about him. I will persevere though.

Lewis-Vaughn Botanical Garden

Published by under 365

The Lewis-Vaughn Botanical Garden is located in Olde Town Conyers. It has plants, a fountain, and a stream with goldfish and pond bloomers. It’s a pretty little area where you can just enjoy nature in the midst of several local businesses. Look closely or choose a larger size to view to see several goldfish!

Beautiful blue butterfly

Published by under 365

I wandered around Arabia Mountain today and came upon this gorgeous Blue Monarch butterfly. He was very patient as I tried to get close to him for a shot. When I looked this fellow up on the web, I learned they are known for their determination to survive even though they are so very fragile.

Jump & swim!

Published by under 365

Genesis has completed several levels in her swimming lessons. Today they jumped off the diving board and swam the length of the pool several times. She did great! One more week of lessons and then we’ll see if she wants to join the swim team in November.

Children statue

This statue is located on a street near the local library. It’s called the “Amazing Adventure Mountain.” I always find statues very interesting – wish there had been more information available about it.

Perfect peaches!

Published by under 365

These are a few of a box of peaches that I purchased from my favorite local produce store, Thompson Market. (http://www.flickr.com/photos/anned/4772372417/) I’m getting ready to freeze them so I can enjoy them later when these perfect peaches won’t be available! Yum!

Reflections

Published by under 365

We took our granddaugher back to the Monastery to feed the geese, ducks, and turtles. I like the way this picture turned out with this fellow’s reflection in the water and then the added reflections of the clouds and tree branches.
